Our lab focuses on understanding the toxicology, chemistry, and risk assessment of agrochemicals and pesticides in the environment, agriculture, and human health. My research area includes measuring the environmentally relevant levels of pesticides and agrochemicals in the environment, food, and other matrices via analytical chemistry-based methods e.g., high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) as well as using modeling approaches to understand the risk assessment of pesticides and agrochemicals. In addition, our lab aims to develop and implement a research-driven extension program that integrates knowledge and information from environmental toxicology, chemistry, and related disciplines to foster sustainable agricultural practices as well as assisting stakeholders in science-based decision-making.

Research Interest

Integrated Pest Management (Pesticide Spray Application Methods, Mating Disruption, Insecticide Resistance, and Pesticide Toxicology)

Insect-Plant Interactions/ Chemical Ecology

Pesticide Residue Analysis, Agricultural and Analytical Chemistry (Spray Adjuvants and Surfactants), Non-Target/ High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS), Environmental Risk Assessment
