BEE 270 - ECOLOGY FOR ENGINEERS
Maggie is a Faculty Research Assistant in the Department of Biological and Ecological Engineering, where she studies the intersection of ecology, agriculture, and renewable energy systems. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia, and a M.S. in Water Resources Science from Oregon State University.
Maggie grew up in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia. She fell in love with Oregon while working as a tide pool naturalist on the Southern Oregon Coast, and has split her time between Virginia and the Northwest ever since. Before coming to OSU, Maggie worked as a wetland scientist as well as in the renewable energy sector. She sees an abundance of opportunities for collaboration between the industries of renewable energy and ecological/agricultural restoration, which inspires her work on agrivoltics (solar photovoltaics + agriculture) here in the NEWAg Lab.
