Insect pollinators provide valuable ecosystem services in both native habitats and agricultural landscapes. Oregon produces a rich diversity of seed crops many of which require pollination by bees. Faculty in the Entomology Program Area are engaged in fundamental and applied research on the European honey bee, native bumble bees and native solitary bees, in cropping systems, urban landscapes, and wild habitats.
